Create and track localization projects until delivery.

Project Management

Overview
Create and track localization projects until delivery.

Technical Specs
Create projects by adding files that require localization to them. Track the macro status of a project from Preparing -> Pending -> Approved -> Delivered -> Invoiced for the full project life cycle. Keep track of the audit trail of all manual approvals and interventions.

Benefits
Easily create projects by setting simple parameters: files, languages, dates, and people. Once these are set, your project can navigate either manially or through automation. Drill into projects to check granular aspects of each project. Keep track of costs. Create your own taxonomy of business units or budgets in order to group projects for reporting purposes.

Edge
Our Project Management features were built around complex localization use cases. This means they work well for both file based and connector based continuous localization programs.Batching things into projects makes managing them predictable and efficient.

Overview
Create and track localization projects until delivery.Create quotes based on a combination of files, analysis, and pricelists. BWX will automatically create quotes based on pricing and file parameters.

Technical Specs
BWX infers workflows and line items based on file types and grabs data from file analysis and SLAs in order to determine delivery time frames, effort and cost to complete any given job.

Benefits
Quoting is one of the biggest pains in localization. Error prone and repetitive, BWX does it all for you so that it’s no big deal.

Edge
Quoting is a primary, not secondary feature in BWX. We built our platform with cost management in mind, not as a layer above a traditional Translation Management System.

Overview
Keep track of live project completion.

Technical Specs
As soon as someone confirms a string in the translation or review stage of any given langauge, you will be able to see the project needle moving.

Benefits
No need to email people to check on job progress, no unpleasant surprises at the very end. You can track both the macro project progress as well as the progress per language, per stage and per language. You can go as big or granular as you would like for effective management.

Edge
The ability to manage workflows taht are both in our translation editor environment as well as those that reside out of it such as DTP, or Engineering gives Localization Managers an edge in terms of real end-to-end project tracking including In-market Review and Approval.

Overview
Integration with third party systems such as Slack, Zendesk

Technical Specs
Certain actions in BWX trigger actions in third party systems.

Benefits
A sucessful project delivery can generate a slack notification, a bug can open a ticket in Zendesk, or an action that requires attention can generate a warning in another communication system.

Edge
People work in multiple systems. BWX understands that. Webhooks allow people to focus their communication on their main hubs and also pave the way for exception based project management with different kinds of triggers and alerts for different kinds of situations.

Overview
Client Portals, Integrations (API), CLI, Connectors

Technical Specs
Supports projects created from traditional files such as Microsoft Word or Adobe InDesign, structured files like XML, YAML or JSON. Files can be uploaded through the BWX portal, through an API integration or through our Command Line Interface.

Benefits
The flexibility allows BWX to tackle broad localization use-cases. Whether it’s just a single file, a continuous localization case through API, or a developer that wants to push and pull translation projects using our CLI, we handle it all.

Edge
Most complex localization programs have a bit of everything. They have marketing stakeholders who just want a portal to upload their jobs. They have developers who want to run things using the flexibility of our CLI and they also have connector driven content such as a site on Adobe Experience Manager or WordPress. The flexibility in file intake frees different kinds of users to work in the way that’s most convenient to them.

Overview
Define different workflows for different projects

Technical Specs
Whether using templated standard workflows such as Translation or Review or building custom workflows such as Legal Review or Compliance Review, BWX performs document worrkflow management.

Benefits
You can keep track of exactly where your files are in the production chain at any given moment. If the work is performed in our editor you can track the live progress of the file at any given point. Our workflow management opens the path for exception based project management.

Overview
BWX infers file types based on extensions and understands the required workflows.

Technical Specs
BWX will recognize an InDesign from an iOS file for instance. Based on this distinction it will “know” that the InDesign file will require a layouting workflow step while the iOS file will initially require a regular expression analysis to ensure optimal file parsing. BWX can analyze via Natural Language Processing the subject matter as well such as finance vs. legal. Based on these inferences BWX uses the quality data generated around how translators and other agents perform in the platform to determine those that are likely to have a successful outcome with any given file.

Benefits
Localization traditionally relied on a project manager to make all the hard decisions. Which files should go to which translators and why. How long they would get and what workflows are necessary for each file type. While this works well with an exceptional Project Manager, it is difficult to scale and sustain. BWX does this heavy lifting in a structured and predictable way. By removing this burden from a human agent, BWX allows the Project Manager to become more of a Manager and less of an operator. if a file is submitted for translation at 2 am for instance when no one is looking at the the system, a translator in Tokyo can still get started on the file provided that they meet the eligibility requirements for that given job. We are talking about getting rid of the biggest chunk of localization organizational cement and adding an unprecented level of predictability in quality and project management.

Edge
While some of our comeptitors have the ability to define workflows, these workflows are often limited to those that take place in the translation editor. BWX captures any kind of workflow even it has nothing to do with the translation itself such as “sending to printer”. BWX is also opinionated as a platform making a ton of educated decisions based on data provided that the parameters are properly setup. This frees up time for people to think more about the odd cases and exceptions while the bulk of the work flows in an automated way.

Overview
Create templates for specific kind of projects.

Technical Specs
BWX allows you to create specific project templates with specific parameters based on certain conditions. So let’s say you create a template for a given newsletter that get weekly translated into X languages with a workflow that looks like Machine Translation -> Human Editing -> In Market Review -> Connector Delivery to Eloqua. Instead of having to setup this project 52 times in a year, you can set it up once and have BWX take care of the rest.

Benefits
Templating saves a ton of button clicking to set up a project. It ensures that a given configuration is applied when the proper rules are met and frees time and headspace so that the users can focus more on strategy and governance as opposed to the operation of a system itself.

Edge
Our templates are flexible and rely on our inference system in order to continuously create and suggest templates for our users without them having to manually create them every time.

Overview
Talk to all people invovled in a given project.

Technical Specs
BWX allows you to add comments within projects.

Benefits
This allows people to keep project relevant communicaction easily available to all involved parties.

Edge
Our threaded communication can integrate with Slack and Zendesk so that teams can get the most out of notifications and communication status.

Technical Specs
BWX supports a wide range of files with optimized parsing and tagging to ensure a smooth translation experience even in edge cases.

Benefits
Even edge cases such as XML with embedded JSON or complex YAML structures are treated in a clean way in our translation editor. This promotes optimized translation memory leveraging and allows translators to keep their eye on the content rather than on a complex tangle of tags and variables.

Edge
Our engineering team works with clients in edge cases to ensure proprietary regular expressions are implemented in order to optimize parsing processes.

Overview
Supply a Translation editor that parses and segments files of the extensions referenced above.

Technical Specs
Translation editor integrated with glossary management, translation management, live Web preview,

Benefits
Our translation editor is clean and meant as a productivity tool. File preview allows translators or editors to see comments made by engineers in structured files, and automated checks promote quality integrity in terms of tagging, spelling and terminology consistency.

Edge
Our translation editor is clean, light, fast and allows file, code and web preview in order to maximize contextualization for linguists.

Overview
Include in the Translation editor and environment that allows users to make changes and categorize the nature of the change and comment on them.

Technical Specs
Review environment automatically maps out all changes made during review process and makes this data available through analytics and reports so that BWX users can understand linguistic performance across langauges, markets, products, initiatives and engage in continuous improvement processes.

Benefits
You can’t improve what you can’t measure. The final mile in translation is perhaps the most important one. BWX ensures translation memories reflects the language choices markets are actually using and approving. BWX also condenses these changes into data so that quality governance can thrive.

Edge
Our in-country environment is easy to use and allows stakeholders across the world to feel like they actually own their content. The clarity with which the changes are displayed, the flexibility in changes categories and the automation all come together in order to deliver a robust end-to-end process management.

Overview
Include in the Translation editor a Glossary search feature that alerts users about potential inconsistencies regarding the ascribed glossaries.

Technical Specs
Import TBX files or add terms manually in the BWX editor. BWX will then leverage these terms throughout the translation experience, tokenizing them and checking for integrity as each segment is confirmed.

Benefits
Ensure brand and terminology consistency in a predictable and governable way.

Edge
The clarity with which terms are visualized through our tokenization mechanism and the ease to add terms to our glossary contribute to consitency and prorper terminology usage.

Overview
Multiple TMs and engines working together

Technical Specs
BWX can work with multiple Machine Translation engines and multiple Translation Memories with different parameters and configurations.

Benefits
Enjoy the best of Machine Translation and Translation Memory by defining the default thresholds for each Organizational Unit. The threshold will define at what level match BWX will look for Machine Translation as opposed to TM. This increases translator productivity and minimizes costs.

Edge
BWX has the ability to define these settings at the Account, Organization or Organizational Unit level as well as at the Project Level. This promotes ease of project setup and consistent behavior without having to define these parameters purely ad hoc.

Overview
Matching based on content, context and keys.

Technical Specs
BWX will recognize when the same content is used in different contexts and with different keys.

Benefits
This ensures that for instance in an app, the word “Home” with the Key “Home Button” can be translated differently than the word “Home” with the Key “Place where I live” for instance.

Edge
The ability to easily see the keys is fundamental to proper content management when it comes to the translaiton of structured files. The ease of visibility and configurability of translation memory behavior makes BWX a flexible solution that meets the needs of the most complex use cases in localization.

Overview
Include in the translation editor a translation memory search window and suggest translation memory matches to users as they got through each segment.

Technical Specs
Leveraging Elastic Search technology, our Translation Memory is fast, effective and highly conigurable with penalties, as well as different read/write configurations.

Overview
Light mode/dark mode, line spacing, font size, Column vs. Flow

Overview
Tagging, spelling, NLP
